I am planning to be in Frankfurt in august and have 6 days before returning to US would like to do more of if any body had a good itinerary I would apprecate.

My first thought is spend it all on the Mittelrhein and on the Mosel. Perhaps base in St. Goar for 3 days and see Bacharach, Rheinfels, the Marksburg (Braubach), then switch to the Mosel (Cochem, probably) and see Bernkastel-Kues, Zell, Beilstein, and Cochem. Maybe see Koblenz (Deutsches Eck) and Burg Eltz in between.
You could also take a side trip to Köln. So much to see in that area.

You might get more responses by presenting your own ideas for an itinerary first, then letting the peanut gallery make suggestions from there. Remember, everyone here is a volunteer sharing their own personal experiences and knowledge, not a professional travel agent.

And think about what you would like to see. Do you want big cities, or scenic countryside? Will you be driving or taking the train?

When in August? There is the huge Museum Riverbank fest the last weekend in August. If you were going to be here that weekend, I would say go to that as it is so much fun. We have had over 3 million people show up last year and the year before.
Do you want any suggestions for Frankfurt? You have not given us much to go on so that we can make suggestions.
