I am looking into traveling to Paris for 8 days in August with a tour and staying extra 2 days. Is August really not the time to go since the French will be on vacation? Or since most of the popular places to see will be covered in the tour, the 2 extra days in August won't be too bad? Thanks everyone for your tips!
Many of the best Paris restaurants shut down in August while the owners/managers take the traditional long European vacation. But lots of tourists manage in August, those with school age children who have to go in the summer. Southern France will be hot and the Riviera hot/humid in August, the coolest locations are Brittany and other areas near the Channel or Atlantic. Paris weather in August you never know, it can be hot or perfect.
Thank you~ I feel so much better now :) I should be able to manage!!
