I am needing advice on an inexpensive way of getting from Split to Nice .Airfares seem very high .Have looked at getting ferry to Ancona(Italy) but then still have to get to Nice in France. Any ideas would be appreciated
You certainly don't have an easy or inexpensive way to get from Split to Nice. One option is to take a flight from Zagreb to Milan on Germanwings.com. 79Euro with the flight going through Cologne-Bonn Germany. It's a 7.0hr. flight. Then, you have a 90-minute bus transfer to the Milan train station from Milan Malpensa airport. Then, you have a 5.0hr train ride from Milan to Nice for 30Euro per person.
The ferry will cost about 70Euro per person according to a ferry web page that I have. Then, a train from Ancona to Nice will take 9.0hr. with a change in Milan. Cost is 70.90Euro per person. Plus, you'll probably need a hotel or room in Ancona for the night as the ferry arrives at 21:00.
Thanks Larry. It seems quite a mission going to try and see if there are other options with the airlines maybe.Someone suggested I try Sky Europe????
Not sure about the ferries but I will look into it.Thanks
You can get there by Sky Europe. First, you have to fly from Split to Vienna. Then, you fly from Vienna to Nice. On the SkyEurope website, you can't input Split as the origination and Nice as the destination. It looks like you have to make two different flight arrangements. One flight from Split to Vienna and then another from Vienna to Nice.
You can also fly from Split to Marseilles on GermanWings and then take a train from Marseilles to Nice.
