Help! looking for a place in Paris

I am trying to find a nice place to stay in Paris. I would like to find something for this Thursday Oct. 15, 2009 for 4-5 nights. Yes, I know that it's last minute but my last few stops have been like this because I ended up staying at my destination a few days longer. However, I haven't had any problems finding a place except for now. I have been paying between 40-60 euros for all of the B&B's that I have been staying in (Sorrento, Orvieto, Assisi, Perugia, Cortona, Florence and Lucca). I know that I won't find anything like this in Paris but I do want to stay under 100 euros/night if possible. I am traveling solo and don't have a big budget for accommodations. I did find some great deals for 60-80 euros/night at charming hotels or B&B's but they are not surprisingly booked. If you know of anything or anyone who has even an apartment in a nice and QUIET location, I would appreciate sincere and positive thoughts.

Thanks.

Isabella,

I checked This Hotel in the Rue Cler area, and surprisingly they seem to be fairly well booked at this particular time (69 € for a basic single room). You could also try This Hotel (106 € for a single) or This Hotel (170 € for a single), but I have no information on their room availability.

Given the very short notice, I suspect you may have to pay more than the amount you budgeted or be prepared to stay somewhere a bit in the outskirts.

Good luck and happy travels!

Isabella: Try the Hotel Ideal, rue Emile-Zola and the Campanile Nation.

The three MIJE hostels are renovated 17th-century private mansions in the Marais. Rick Steves calls them "the best budget accommodations in Paris." A single room costs 49 EUR. A continental breakfast is included. If you're willing to share a room with one, two, or more people, you'll pay even less.

Girl at work stayed at St Christophers Hostel in Paris, said it was clean and new.. near metro.

Hotel Diana may have rooms, I like the area it is in,, very central.

Hi,

THANK YOU EVERYONE for your help. I really appreciate it. You are the only group who responded to my message.

I finally and thankfully booked 4 nights with Hotel de la Porte for a queen size bed for about 82€/night. They had an on-line special so I took advantage of it. I also booked a flight through Ryanair for a total of 146.49€. It started off at 99€ but there are a lot of fees that they sneak in there. I will arrive in Paris Beauvais at 18:00. I have a question about getting to my hotel. Are there busses from the station into town? Also, I can't help but wonder if I should have booked for an another night since my first night there will be spent resting. What do you think? Is 4 nights sufficient?

One last question. I want to go from Paris to Florence but there are no flights with Ryanair. Can anybody recommend another budget flight?

Thank you so much. I am so relieved that my hotel is booked.

You can also look for flights into Pisa. The Pisa Airport has a train station with direct and one stop trains into Florence. It takes about an hour and a half.

Shuttle buses from Beauvais to Porte Maillot in Paris depart 15-30 minutes after each Ryanair arrival. You can buy a ticket online here and avoid standing in line.

As Frank says, you can fly Paris-Pisa. EasyJet flies Orly-Pisa. You're too late for the cheapest fares, but it still would be your best choice if you fly.

Or you could take the direct Paris-Florence night train and save yourself the cost of a night in a hotel and have more daylight hours for sightseeing.

Etap, Ibis and hotelformule1.com usually have rooms. Look at the accorhotels.com web page. They are all over Paris.
