Does anyone know how to get to Pellevoisin, France, by public transportation? Or do you have suggestions about how to figure it out? It's a very small town, and there are no large towns nearby (that I can identify). Deutsche Bahn doesn't recognize it (although it recognizes some of the nearby towns). I'm puzzled about how to figure out the best route. Thanks!
Do a Yahoo search: Pelevoisin, France. There are number of entries and you may find some help.
You are right, it is in what's called "la France profonde" or deep in the heart. I pulled this off the sanctuary website for Pellevoisin: PAR LE TRAIN : à 2h de Paris - Austerlitz.
Essentially take the Chateauroux train from the Austerlitz train station in Paris. At the Chateauroux station take the bus provided by the train company (SNCF) that is going to Tours. Get off in Buzancais at their station. (The SNCF train company was obliged to run buses to compensate for train routes which were cut back several years ago.) If you are going to the sanctuary, they'll come get you when you call. If you aren't going to the sanctuary, you'll probably have to take a taxi from Buxancais. Bonne route or as Ken from Canada always write, Happy Travels.
Thank you so much! I didn't see that on the sanctuary website... maybe I was looking at the wrong webpage.
Check here "renseignements pratiques": http://www.pellevoisin.net/venir.htm Scroll down to Moyens d'access and then par le train.
