I need a recommendation for a family of 4 for one night in Paris. There are soooo many I feel lost. I am looking for one centrally located to the main sites, CLEAN, affordable, nothing fancy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
try Hotel de Lutece. Its on the Ile Saint Louis very close behind Notre Dame. Centrally located, cozy, with reasonable rates.
Brigitte, You might have a look at This Hotel in the Rue Cler area. They advertise triple rooms, but might be able to add a Cot for the fourth person. It's in a good location for walking to the Eiffel Tower, and easy access to Metro via the Ecole Militaire station. If you could provide a bit more information on the specifics of your trip, it would help. One night is a really short time for visiting Paris! The Guidebooks have lots of listing for Hotels in various parts of Paris and in various price ranges. Happy travels!
Hi Brigitte,
The hotel that Ken suggested actually has a quad room as well. I needed more room (we are a family of 6) and booked 2 triples there yesterday but they had originally offered a quad for, I believe, 169 euro. I've stayed here before, nothing fancy but clean, nice people, and an amazing location for an amazing price. Have fun, Linda
Thanks everyone !!!
So unfortunately thereis not a quad available for my dates :o(
and we are unable to afford two rooms...any other suggestions?
Argh, I hate recommending hotels! The Cluny-Sorbonne (nw corner of the universtiy) has a couple of quads. So do several in the Campanile chain located all over the city. If all else fails, use venere.com. Sort first by price, then run down that list until you find a guest rating above about a 7.5 with a fair number of reviewers and you should be okay. Don't get hung up on location. The whole city is safe and walkable, or at worst, safe and a fifteen minute metro ride to the core area.
This one is basic, but cheap... perfectly fine for bunking one night:

Brigitte, Any luck with the Hotels yet? Hopefully you'll have some success soon.
Hi Ken, Still searching...I guess we chose popular dates and have too many people LOL
Try Hotel Kensington nr Rue Cler and very close to Eiffel Tower. They have some larger rooms and an elevator.
Thanks so much for the recommendations...I have emails out to each of them....I am crossing my fingers.....you guys have been great!
Brigitte - You can try the Hotel de l'Avre which is clean and affordable and a few blocks from the Eiffel Tower, and close to a good Metro stop.
Hey! - we are a family of 9 going to Paris this summer, and we found a great apartment in Paris for a very reasonable price at http://www.vrbo.com/ I used them several times before and have been very pleased with the quality of apartments.
