Hello, Will be on Oahu for two weeks at a friends timeshare had for years. We would like to travel to one or two of the other islands? What is the cheapest way to do this is there a ferry we could take. What about a condo for 4 people on one of these islands and a good price since we are retired? Like Maui or Kauai. Thank you,
There was a ferry but I think they discontinued it .. cheapest and fastest is inter island flights booked in advance.
Look at Hanalei Bay resort in Princeville, Kauai. It is one of my favorite places to stay. Rent a private condo with a great view. Ask on tripadvisor.com forums for Jebett. She owns a private rental there with a great view.
Since this is a web site dedicated to answering and asking questions about European travel, you might get more action to your questions by posting it on some place like TripAdvisor.
You're fortunate to have gotten answers for Hawaii under Western Europe, but you're results may be limited. Might be best to try a different site.
We were in Maui in May. Absolutely beautiful, and we were told that this was the best island by many visitors who had been to all or most of the islands. We've heard that Kauii is beautiful also, but that Princeville area is the wet side of the island. If you want more sun than rain, maybe the other side would be better ? We stayed at Westin Kanaapali villas (not cheap), and Maui Eldorado condominiums (my friend owns there and rents out for a good price). Send me a private messge, and I can give more info - it's a one bedroom, but he knows other people who rent also. It's on Kanaapali Beach.
I don't think the ferries are currently running. You would need to fly. There may be a local airline but otherwise, you will have to use Hawaiian Air. The interisland terminal is part of Honolulu International. We liked the Poipu area on the south side of Kauai. You would be closer to the Waimea Canyon. We thought the weather was better...more sun. There are LOTS of condos near Poipu. Aloha!
