http://www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_28.htm I found this apartment listed in VIP. Looks good in the photos. VIP, of course, has only positive reviews on their website. Has anyone actually rented this particular apartment? It is going to be just me and my husband. I thought it would be sufficient space for two adults.
It is located on rue Berthollet in the 5th, between Metro stops Port Royal and Censier Daubenton. We want to be little bit away from the crowded tourist scene and do not mind taking the Metro. This is my 3rd trip to Paris and want to stay in a part of Paris that I haven't visited before. Is anyone familar with this neighborhood?

The VIP people are very knowledgeable on all of the properties and are happy to answer questions. We visited the Jardin des Plantes in that area on our last trip and I think you will be fine. The parc is very pretty and I think Daubenton was the landscape architect who designed it. Also in that area is the mosque where you can have tea-the courtyard/atrium area is beautiful. If this area is not in the Latin Quarter it is very close. My most lasting memory of walking that area is my camera failed to focus-not a good thing! Luckily we had a backup camera. It's close to the rue Mouffetard, (longish) walking distance to La Closerie des Lillas and just a little further past La Closerie to Montparnasse. There's a market along Bld. de Port Royal a couple days a week.
