Does anyone have info on the Haribo gummy bear plant in Bonn? Do they have a plant tour or museum? Thanks
I looked through the website and found no mention of tours. But they do have a factory store that carries the full line of yummy gummies! See the picture here: http://www2.haribo.com/deDE/shops/werksverkauf/bonn.html . Hours listed on same page.
I've been to Bonn a couple of times and never heard of a tour, but I wasn't really looking for it either.
public tours in production facilities that produce food items are extremely rare as the requirements to adhere to hygiene legislations are very strict. Therefore, Haribo refers to the "International Food Standard (IFS) and does not offer any tours: Bietet HARIBO Werksbesichtigungen an? Alternatively, Katjes does have a production facility in Potsdam that is specifically designed for public tours.

I'm surprised that nobody else wondered what the tree or bush from which the gummi bears are harvested looks like. How many plants must they have to get so many gummi bears off them all the time....
