Hang Gliding

I am trying to find a great place to Hang Glide in Germany or Austria. I am looking for the nearest location by Reutte, Austria and or Tegelberg, Germany. I am also wondering..
How much will it cost for one person?
What are the hours?
Are they open all year long?
Is there a website someone can give to me in English for this?
Thank you!

Becky,

I'm not too familiar with the Hang Gliding options in those areas, but did find one listing. Have a look at This website for information. Unfortunately, clicking the link goes to a German-only part of the website, and I'm not able to translate (but I'll bet someone in the talented group here will be able to help with that).

Another area that's popular for this sort of activity is the Berner Oberland and Interlaken area in Switzerland (should you happen to be travelling in that area).

Just to clarify, are you interested in Hang Gliding or Paragliding?

Good luck!

Piece of advice, get travel medical insurance. Although, I think that a claim from an activity like that would be disallowed.

When I was in Pfronten last August, I went up the Breitenbergbahn (Sorry, it is in German.) The top station of the Gondola is 1800 meters. There were lots of people gliding from there. In fact, there is a landing area near the base of the gondola.

On the website, on the far side of the ridge in the foreground, Füssen, and beyond it, on the hill, the white spot is Neuschwanstein.

A single trip up is just under €14. It looks like currently the hours are 9 AM to 5 PM, but that might change with the seasons. In the winter the Breitenbergbahn is a ski lift.

You might want to do some serious reading on the safety issues before picking hang-gliding over para-gliding. Or, for that matter, para-gliding over plain vanilla jumping out of airplanes for the jolly fun of it.
