Staying 2 full days/3nights in Wengen. We had been thinking about the 1/2 fare card since our only train ride will be upon leaving the area. I understand that the mountain trains are covered (25-50%) but does this include mountain lifts? I don't want to purchase the cards and then find out they don't cover everything. We have VIP supplements reserved on the Golden Pass, I know that I need to purchase tickets as well. Can this be done from the US and still use a 1/2 fare card? Thanks for any help. We leave in 2 weeks!

You can get a Swiss 1/2 fare card for CHF99 that's good for 30 days. It's good for 50% off all transportation in Switzerland including the Jungfrau and Schilthorn. The 1/2 fare pass can be of value if you are going up to the moutain tops. With a retail roundtrip to the Jungfraujoch costing $177, the 1/2 fare card almost pays for itself. We had a 1/2 fare card on our most recent trip to Switzerland but had to pay a reservation supplement on the Glacier Express.
