Haarlem and Bastogne Hotel and B & B recommendations

We stayed at the Best Western Melba in Bastogne last September. It's not the kind of place I normally pick, but they're aren't a lot of great choices in Bastogne. It turned out to be quite nice. I wouldn't say it's loaded with character and the decor won't knock your socks off, but we found it to be very comfortable at a good price. You get a pretty good breakfast buffet too. Of course we were fortunate to be upgraded to a huge suite. The people that own it are just lovely, so it felt a little like a B&B. There are a lot of reviews on Trip Advisor, which will give you a good idea.

Good point about the stars. We are using the European rating system. Nothing less than two stars. Looking for a place in a good location, easy access with a car, clean, safe and friendly. Is that asking for too much? Thank you all.

Kathy The star system in the US is not the same in Europe. Do you mean two star on the American scale or the European? What do you want from a two star?
