Does anyone know if the train station in Gruyeres has luggage check? I know a lot of train stations have lockers but I am wondering if we can stop here on the way to Lausanne for the day with our bags and check them (since they will be too big for lockers I'm guessing)? Thanks!

There are lockers, I don't think there is a luggage check service- but I'm not 100% certain. But lockers at Swiss Rail stations come in three sizes. The largest will hold three Rick Steves sized bags, so there should be plenty of room.

Hi Ali, we we're in Gruyères a month ago, and sorry no lockers or baggage check at that station, it is a very small station. there is lockers at the next station in Bulle 5 min away, go down the stairs, lot of lockers there, 5 euros for the biggest one (we we're able to fit two carry on in one big locker). you could also ask the people at the Gruyères cheese factory right in front of the station, they might agree to keep it for you for a few hours.

If you have large bags the lockers will not take them. When you get there ask about the left luggage counter.
If you dont find one, go to a hotel and ask if you can check your luggage for a few hours. I have done that several times.

Thanks for your responses. We will probably just do as a day trip in this case. I was hoping to stop in Gruyeres from our night train to Lausanne but we can rearranage our schedule to accomodate going back. Thanks again!
