We are going to be driving from Paris and we are planning on stoppping at the Grotte du Pech Merle. Any advice on where to stay near there?

How near do you need to be? And what is the rest of your itinerary? If you are heading south from there, I might suggest staying in the Dordogne valley to the north, spending a few days, and visiting the Grotte on the road when you leave (to the south). Otherwise St Cirq is lovely, though small.
