Grotte de font de gaume

We are staying in the Dorgdone the week of June 20th and would like to reserve an english speaking tour of the Grotte de Font de Gaume. Does any one know if this can be done on line and if so at what website.

I have done this. I used this website for the info: http://www.hominides.com/html/lieux/grotte-font-de-gaume.php Then I sent an e-mail to: [email protected] I received a reply the next day, for which I had to send them the credit card info for the full pre-payment. You can phone or e-mail this in. This was all done in French, but I suspect that it may be OK to do in English as well... The English tour is scheduled for 11:00, with check-in no later than 10:30 (ticket pick-up). Tix price = 7 euros pp + 1.50 euro booking fee added to the total. Since this booking is firm, you may want to reserve for lunch at Restaurant La Source nearby for 13:00: http://www.restaurant-la-source.fr/index.html
-- you have little hope of eating there without an advance booking.

Of the 140 daily visitors, only one group tour time is offered in English (11:00). This slot does fill very quickly indeed...

I visited the cave in Sept. of 2009. You can call them directly to reserve; they speak English. We had a tour in French but the guide answered questions in English as well. Be sure to visit the nearby museum; it is well worth spending several hours and the architecture is stunning.
