Hate to hear this beautiful area suffered such a tragedy. The news wires are reporting at least one dead when the ski lift derailed. Took place in 60 MPH winds. For those of us who have been in this area our sympathy to all involved.

Jerry, that is distressing news! The rescue of the other skiers trapped on the lift must have been really difficult, given that Helicopters couldn't be used. I'm sure the Swiss did an excellent job!

I'm so sad to hear about this. Didn't hear anything about it here, nor did I see it in the newspaper. Any suggestions where I could get more info? My heart goes out to them all, we loved being there in '06.
