GreyLine Tour for D-Day.

I posted earlier on getting a tour, I am leaning toward Greyline since they will get me from Paris to the beaches for a tour and back again, all in one day. It seems the easiest.
Has anyone taken this tour that can relay some info on it?
Your opion and tips and so one. Thanks in advance!

It may be the easiest, but I don't see how you can see the Normandy beaches in less than a full day. I would recommend staying a night in Bayeux, taking a day trip, and then returning to Paris by train.

I second the post on you should plan on more than one day and stay in Bayeux. When I was there last year I went on a tour with a company called Battlebus, I highly recommend them, www.battlebus.fr,They have various tours from 1 to 2 days and you learn and experience so much more by going with a professional who knows the area and most importantly the history and little known stories of the area. Well worth the expense.

I already have rooms booked in Paris, so would have to absorb one night of double billing if I did that.
Grayline "says" you get to see the landing beaches. I believe this will be a wirlwind tour but better than nothing I guess. The time frame is 14 hours. So, I am guessing that is 6 hours back/forth so that leaves 8 hours for the sites. This is why I am searching for someone who has taken this tour fo find out the facts. Thanks for your replies.

Den - We are also looking into the tours and have only one day to go, traveling in from Paris and then back to our Paris hotel. I'm eager to hear what works for you and how you would rate the tour. Please post when you return and share this info! Thanks!

I got this response from Linkparis when I asked about dates and times to book. >>>

There is no overbooking on our tours. Each slot is guaranteed. The tour is only 8 people in a minivan, only in english. Caen train station pickup and dropoff is included. The tours run every day. The only varying factor is when the first train from Paris leaves. On the weekends the train leaves later, to the morning tour at the Memoiral de Caen starts later. Your afternoon landing beach tour is always form 2-7 p.m.Laura
