What is there to do in the daytime in Grenoble in June? and has anyone ever just taken a taxi drive into the Alps for an hour or two?

Thanks Kent. We are looking for the view of the Alps and a few museums but we won't have a lot of time to wander the museums. I've been to the Grenoble tourism site. We appreciate all suggestions.
