Grenada or Salamanca

I have to choose between Grenada or Salamanca for a 5 week summer study program for 2 consecutive years. I want to bring my family. Which would you recommend?

Also, what's the current reality of the Euro vs the dollar in travel: what would a basic meal for a family of four cost?
Thanks, Ben

Hi Ben,
As far as the first question goes, I love both Salamanca and Granada--two of my favorite places to visit in Spain. If I had to choose, I'd probably chose Granada. It's close to the coast, it's a little larger than Salamanca, the food is more interesting, and I found the Moorish influence to be very intriguing--you'll have time to explore the Alhambra and the Albayzin neighborhood.

I'm not sure about the cost of living difference between the two cities. If you do decide on Salamanca, you should have a great experience there as well! You have two great options!

I've been thinking about your options some more--another important factor would be which university program offers you the education and/or experience that you need. Salamanca has Spain's oldest university--is that important for your program of study? I'm not familiar with the reputation of Granada's University.
