We found eating out in Bruges to be quite expensive, especially with the exchange rate. The one place we absolutely loved was 't Zonneke at Genthof 5. It is a small place, owned and run by a husband-chef and wife which does not cater to tourists, and therefore won't rush you to leave or serve you merely adequate food. It's only about a 10-min. walk from the Markt (NW on Vlamingstrasse, rt. on Academiestr., and then angle left on Genthof, and it will be on the left side of street. Look for window boxes with flowers). The hostess and chef were both concerned that we were happy with our food, and were delightful to visit with.
