Granada Hotel - Hotel Anacapri or Alhambra Palace

We will be staying in Granada for 2 full days and 2 nights. Our daughter will be joining us late the first night (coming in from Madrid). I understand the views from Alhambra Palace are fantastic if you can get a room with such a view and if you don't mind spending some extra money. Is it worth it to stay at the Palace from both comfort, view, and convenience perspectives? I initially booked a 2 BR at Hotel Anacapri so we won't be cramped. The rate is obviously less but I am interested in overall experience and comfort/convenience. Should we just go for drinks at Alhambra Palace and stay in town at Anacapri or switch reservations to Alhambra Palace? We will also have a rental car but once we arrive, it is getting parked. Any recommendations or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

When we were in Granada we just stopped at the Alhambra Palace, it's a beautiful hotel however we both agreed that we were glad that we were staying downtown where we could step out of our hotel and enjoy the atmosphere of Granada. . Absolutely get the car parked as soon as you arrive. Granada isn't a car friendly City, we found a parkade and left it there for 3 days! . I'm not familiar with Hotel Anacapri so I can't comment on the hotel, It looks like it's in an excellent location, the parkade would be just a few minutes walk from there, it's almost opposite NH Victoria another hotel worth considering. . If you fancy atmosphere and a price similar to Alhambra Palace then perhaps look at Casa 1800 which gets a 9 and Superb on Booking.com. A hotel that we tried to stay at but was full was Hotel Casa Morisca this also gets a 9 and has the advantage of good parking however I feel I really did like being an easy walk to the Cathedral, Tapas bars as well as a beautiful walk through the path and woods to Alhambra. .
In the end we stayed at Carmen del Corbertizo, I would choose a location somewhere between this hotel and NH Victoria. That way you are within walking distance of everything.

I was very happy staying in town (on level ground). It's an easy bus ride up to the Alhambra and back, and there is so much more to see in Granada. The main thoroughfares in the city were all torn up when I was there - last month - and it didn't look like the work would be finished any time soon. Consequently, there are many detours and temporary one-way streets. Do not expect GPS or internet map sites to give you correct driving directions. Get them in advance in detail from your hotel. It's a real nightmare.

I've stayed at Anacapri and liked it very much. The previous comment about staying right in the heart of the city is a good one. The Alhambra is very isolated so it might not be as much fun at night.

Last September we stayed at thw Macia Plaza on Plaza Nueva. Ideal location, buses to Alhambra round teh corner and a walk up the "river" for an outdoor meal with a view fo teh Alhambra was great. Hotel has rooms with balconies and over teh square and you get a view of the Alhambra, but not much! but you see all teh activity in the square. In spite of facing a relatively busy square, it was not noisy at night.
