My husband and I will be spending two days, two nights in the Harz area of Germany. We want to visit both Goslar and Quedinburg. Instead of spending one night in each city, I would prefer to do two nights in one and drive to the other. Does anyone have informaion about this region that could help us make a decision? Thanks.

That's a very tough one to call. Goslar is a former West German city whereas Quedlinburg remained in ruins until 1990 and was then carefully renovated. Depending on where you want to go both are good hubs. And actually they're only a 50 mins drive apart.
