Good place to stay in Brugge

We are a family of six spending two weeks in Europe this summer. We are looking for a good/ reasonable place to stay in Brugge. We would love to find a good B&B or a hotel that has "family" rooms. Any suggestions?

Nick, our family of 4 stayed at the Asterix House in Brugge, about 4 years ago. The house was totally lovely and Gert was amazing to work with! Very honest and helpful!! This house has an extra bedroom so it can accomodate more people. He also has the Obelix House, and though I did not see it, I am sure it is well appointed. I found the house through HomeAway. Please know that Gert uses the term 'demand' but he really just means to request (it caused me some consternation and a bit of confusion until I actually met him). We rented bikes in Brugge from the downtown area and managed the distances a bit better. Here are the links, but try looking on HomeAway, I think that I saw his listing recently. AsterixBruges: Schaarstraat 5- 8000 Brugge www.AsterixBruges.be ObelixBruges: Speelmansstraat 11, 8000 Brugge
www.ObelixBruges.be Good luck and let me know if need additional assistance. BTW, I had been there ages ago and this time we came back with our high school kids for a week! We did not get bored!!

Nick, I stayed at the Hotel Adornes last year, and would highly recommend it. They provided free bicycles and the short ride to Damme along quaint canals was fantastic. Happy travels!

"They provided free bicycles." One of the nice things about this arrangement is that you can access them 24/7. Quite handy if you're out late... um... sampling some of Belgium's liquid treasures...

We loved Absoluut Verhulst B&B, large rooms, not a typical layout. Read more at TripAdvisor. Great hosts, amazing breakfasts in their beautiful patio/garden area. Send me p.m. if you need more info. Mike

Absoluut Verlhust has a large room on top of their old house that has 2 Double beds, 2 baths, and maybe 2 couches. But if you were willing to split up, maybe 2 adults in their cozy, stylish standard room and the rest up stairs in the big room, that is possible. I stayed their 2 times, both in the same classic room, and will stay their again if I return to Bruges. I highly recommend this B&B. Benno and Frieda are the best B&B hosts ever. You can not get any friendlier that this. Their breakfast is superb, especially Benno's famous scrambled eggs. Its a convenient walk to the famous town square. http://www.b-bverhulst.com/
