Any suggestions for staying at a hostel in Paris. Will be there for 3 nights, wanted to stay in a central location, but am willing to stay a little further.
The MIJE hostels in Paris have received good reviews here, of course you have to have realistic expectations about hostels, go here to check it out (I think there are 3 in Paris) MIJE Hostels Paris
I stayed at St. Christopher's Inn last year about this time. It was brand new when I stayed there and I was very impressed. It wasn't in the city center but there's a metro stop a few blocks away and lots of little restaurants and cafes nearby.
residence du palais, is not quite a hostel budget hotel in the 6th. I paid 55euro a night for a single room. You get your own shower but the toilet is shared for the hall. It is in the 6th right across the street from the jardin du luxembourg
Hey Ray,
This may be a long shot, but when I was there this past summer I actually found a hotel that was cheaper than a hostel. This will probably only interest you if you are not travelling alone, but the Paris tourism office's website has some incredible deals every now and again. I got a hotel room for two of us that was only 40% of the regular room rate for the hotel, and actually ended up costing less than two hostel beds in the peak-season of summer.
If you are interested, I booked it though http://en.parisinfo.com/
