We will be arriving Zurich Airport on Oct 5 I am wondering if the Golden Pass goes from the airport to Lucerne. I am trying to get familiar with the rails but am still a bit confused. If avail. Would this be a good option. We will be stopping for one night in Lucerne then the next day heading to our rental in lake Brienz . Thanks for your help.
Hi: I would like to ask another question pretaining to the same subject. I would like to get reservations from Lucerne to Interlaken Ost. and was wondering what your suggestions would be as to where to book the seats - front or back, left or right. Thanks for your help.
The Golden Pass is a scenic train route from Luzern to Montreux, requiring several train changes. Regular regional trains also serve this route. To make reservations, go to the Golden Pass website. It has diagrams of the seating configuration, and a description of the cars. I don't know if the train between Luzern and Interlaken has special panoramic cars; someone else could help you with that. Might want to start a new post with the question of where to sit. To answer Cheryl's question, there are direct trains from the Zurich airport to Luzern, every hour or two, and many intermediate trains with a change at the main Zurich station. The direct trains are nice as the Zurich station is huge and can be confusing.
