Hi, We're going to Europe on April 25, spending 4 days in Paris. Does it matter if those days are weekdays or weekends? Will the museums and attractions be more crowded on the weekend?
Weekends will likely be a bit more crowded at some places. But some of the museums are closed one day during the week (for example - the Louvre is closed on Tuesdays) so you may want to check that out before deciding what days. That week is also the last week of Spring Break for all the students in the Paris area. My experience is that things are a bit more crowded during the week of school vacations.
Museums and attractions operated by the national goverment in France tend to close on Mondays, and ones run by the city government on Tuesdays. Shops and restaurants often close on Sundays and some very traditional small places may close on Mondays as well for all or part of the day. Depends what you want to do.
I think the Louvre is open late Wednesdays - we really enjoyed that as it was quieter.
