Going to Paris for 5 days

Hi gang,
We are travelling with an 18 month toddler and going to Paris!!

Which neighborhood should we stay in which will be good for nighttime relaxing walks and options for good restaurants.
Rue Cler, Marais or Luxembourg? We would prefer to not stay far from the main attractions and roads, but not going for pub style people.

Let me know any good recommendations for restaurants for breakfast/lunch/dinner.

Thanks for your replies folks!
Sonia.

I would recommend renting an apartment. You will have much more room and a kitchen. If you child gets hungry you will have the ability to fix something to eat. I don't think most hotel rooms have refrigerators.

As for what area, I think the Luxembourg area would be the best one of the ones you mentioned. We like the Latin Quarter. The Rue Cler area is nice but in my opinion too far away from most things.

Rue Cler is west of most attractions except the ET and maybe the Arc.

Marais is a bit east, but not too far and a great neighborhood.

By Lux, if you mean the Latin Quarter or St Germain, that area would be my choice, but I'm highly prejudiced toward an area I've know well for a long time -- it's also the most handy for bulk of the main attractions. Also has a large variety of places to eat.

Not sure what 'pub style people' are, but I darn well might be one -- give us a hint.

I totally agree with the Luxembourg Park area, especially with an 18 mos old, the park will be a great place to go with a toddler.
