To get from Montparnasse to CDG, is it better to take the Air France bus right from Montparnasse or take the metro from Montparnasse to an RER stop and then take the RER train from there to CDG? Thanks!

Depends...
Metro #4 to St Michel stop & transfer to RER B to CDG is faster and a little cheaper. If time is not a factor and you prefer not to go underground then the bus may be better for you (about an hour, depending on traffic).

Hi, Occam's razor. Simplest may be the best. Take the Air France bus. Do you have luggage? Do you like going through turn styles with luggage? Do you like climbing up and down subway stair cases with luggage? Do you like being exposed to pick pockets in crowded situations while handling luggage and bags, and worrying about your flight connection? Do you like the nervousness of a possible missed connection? Then take the several trains/buses/walks to the aeroport. wayne iNWI
