Has anyone stayed in Glottertal? We were think about Freiburg but would sooner be somewhere smaller. How far is Glottertal from Freiburg? If you have stayed at a Pension or Hotel please let me know. We are looking for 2 double non smoking rooms complete with shower and toilet in the room. Preferably breakfast and parking included. Please advise.
Ed, go to www.glottertal.de. On the right hand side of the page, under "Freie Unterkunft suchen" (search available accommodations), put in your dates (in European format - day.month.year) and press "Suchen" (search). A lot of the places have links to their homepage, and, if you need it, will display in English. Any legitimate German hotel will have breakfast included, which you can tell by "ÜF" or "Frühstück inclusive". For more help, PM me.
Thanks Lee, I sent a few emails to a couple of Pensions on that site. But unfortunately I do not speak or read German. Have you stayed in Glottertal? We are 4 aging adults looking for a nice quiet place with shower and toilets in the rooms. We were going to stay in Freiburg but decided to try a close smaller village. Any more suggestions for other villages in the area of Freiburg. We will be driving from Fussen. We will be staying in a few B & B's so we are willing to try them again if we can find a nice quiet one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as we have never been to Europe before. Thank you.
Ed, Go to the following website: www.freiburg-home.com/articles/Accommodation/Hotels/Glottertal/
Scroll down the page and there are several B&Bs, hotels, with pictures and descriptions, located in Glottertal. The site appears to be exclusively in English. If you find something of interest, you could run it through Tripadvisor for ratings.
Have not been there yet but are planning to try Staufen as a base for Black Forest when we go in early June. It is a smaller town and close to Freiburg. It is in Rick's book. Not sure where we are going to stay yet so would also appreciate any reviews of places there.
Have a great trip!
