Glacier Express questiosn

With regard to Glacier Express, do you reserve specific seats? If so, from St. Moritz to Zermatt, is there a "better" side and/or seat? Are some seats forward looking and some backward? What's the difference between 1st class and second? It appears as though they may have added in-seat food and beverage service -- as compared to what and is it worth up-charge? Any help/suggestions will be appreciated?

Reservations are required on the GE, and a seat assignment is included in that. There is no one side better then the other. Its been a few years, but I believe all the seats face forward. First class has a dome car which gives greater visibility; second class has extra-large side windows. For half the cost and no reservation requirements you can also take the regular inter-city trains that run on the same tracks. But if your doing the entire route in one shot, the GE is worth the extra cost as its much more comfortable.
