I have tried and tried to book Glacier Express from Andermatt, Swit-St. Moritz. Does anyone have advice to share? Also, is there a private driving service from St. Moritz to Venice, bus and train too complicated! Thank you for any advice you can share!
Are you using this website? http://www.glacierexpress.ch/en/Pages/default.aspx I just did a "test" booking for May 2 and had no trouble as far as I went. The all-train option to Venice is not all that complicated, although it takes a bit longer than the bus-train route. (9 hours instead of 8.5). You would go from St. Moritz on the Bernina Express route to Tirano, change there for a train to Milan, and then the fast ES train to Venice. Only 2 train changes and lots of nice scenery. I can't imagine paying for a private car service for this trip.
This is completely off the top of my head, and perhaps incorrect - but a private driver who will drive you all the way to Venice, and charge you for the return trip - they have to get back - and overnight hotel, because each way it will be 6 hours driving plus breaks and food so the law would require resting so they don't exceed the legal hours driving - - - will cost a king's ransom.
