RS recommends purchasing advance tickets online for Monet's House/Gardens in Giverny if you can't arrive before 9:30 or later in the afternoon in order to skip the ticket-buying lines. I'm trying to purchase them via the website www.fondation-monet.com as RS recommends, but I'm having these difficulties: 1. I believe my 12 and under children can enter at the child's price, not the adult price. Is this accurate? 2. The website requests an account setup in order to purchase online. There is a pull-down list for the country you live in, but "United States of America" or "USA" are not options. What should I ? If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. We will be there in early July. We are driving from Caen that morning and I doubt we would arrive early, so that is why I was trying to purchase tickets online. Thanks!
If the country listing is in french, the US is Etats-Unis.
Nancy, thanks. I took a look based on what you said, and I found it! United States was listed between Estonia and Ethiopia. Go figure.
Ah, that's the French for you. LOL
Hi Pam, Yes, your kids that are 12 and under get in for the child's price. According to the Practical Information tab on their website, the admission fee for the house and gardens for children aged 7-12 is 5 Euro, and children under 7 are free. Adults are 9.50 Euro. Sounds like a great trip!
Yes, that's the French for you, expecting to speak French in their own country.
To be fair, American money underwrote the revival of these luscious gardens. And most places in Paris accept that English is the language of international tourism.
