Giverny in October

We are planning to be in France in October of next year. We are going to Giverny but was wondering what it was like in October. We were there in May of this year and it was beautiful with the garden in full bloom. Is is like that in October, particularly late October, or are most of the flowers gone by then. Thanks.

I was in Giverny 2 years ago in mid-October. There were many flowers in bloom, though obviously different ones than you had in May. Going there was well worth it to me. The gardens close at the end of October for the season.

We visited Giverny last October 2nd and it was beautiful. I have never been in the spring or summer to compare, but I loved it and the flowers were beautiful.
Don't miss it! Happy Travels!

Thanks for the answers. Sounds like it is worth going even in early autumn. We were in Paris in December and just remember that everything in the gardens and parks and Versailles were dormant.

I just returned--was there less than a week ago. The gardens were gorgeous!

David, I was in Giverny last October ( end of the month) of this past 2012 year-It was really incredible- The entire day we were there, it was raining and for most of the day -Take an umbrella- and a nice coat because it was cold.
We didn't care because we were in the home of my favorite artist of the French Impressionist period-that meant alot to me. Laura
