My friend and I will be staying at a lovely B&B near Monet's garden in Giverny early in June.We will be there for 3 days. Does anyone have suggestions for other places to visit in the area besides Monet's garden and grounds? We will have a car. Thanks,
Chris
The town of Les Andeleys , about twenty miles away, is charmingly situated on a bend of the Seine. It has a great ruined castle that belonged to Richard the Lion-Hearted......Rouen is worth a couple of hours to see the cathedral that Monet painted and the Jeanne d'Arc sites. Honfleur is also within driving distance.
See my reply today to Nan re: train tickets to Giverny. I loved this resto. Also make sure to spend a little time in the museum of American Impressionists, also in Giverny.
