I am trying to find a great side trip / guide / tour from Barcelona to Girona. Please help me with any referrals to a tour company or guide in addition to what else should be packaged with a trip to Girona. Any helpis appreciated!!! :)

If it's just a day trip, it's easy to do on your own. Get a couple of guidebooks that cover Girona and take the train from Barcelona. We walked from the train station to the far end of town and made our way back, seeing the sights (and having lunch, of course!) along the way.

Janet is right but I would not use a US card to pay for the train tickets--see my thread called RENFE alert to see details as to why.
