Girls Trip to Europe [INVALID] where to go? have some ideas

Hi! My cousin and I are looking to do a trip to Europe this fall. Only going for a week, so need to stay in western/central to not burn up som much time taveling. Need to stay away from the following because already been to/going next year: Italy - been twice Germany - been twice Belgium The Netherlands London Austria Czech Republic
France That narrows it down to Spain... is there stuff worth seeing outside of Madrid/Barcelona? My cousin has visited both. Portugal Scotland Norway Appreciate your thoughts on any of these destinations. We enjoy sight seeing historic sites, great food and great wine. Time is mid October. Thanks!

Sounds like you should consider Scandinavia- Copenhagen or Sweden.

Have you considered beautiful Switzerland? See topic below "10 days in Switzerland" by Pauleon!

Thank you both! Will definitely look into these. Wonder if my Florida cousin can deal with the cooler temps that I pressume we would encounter in October. I don't mind them, and certainly used to them living in Indiana.

Portugal You can easily visit Lisbon, Evora and Sintra in a week.

By mid-October both Norway and Scotland will be beginning to get quite dark which cuts into your enjoyment if you're trying to see things.... I'd vote for Portugal that time of year! Southern Spain (Andalucia Granada, Seville, Cordoba) could fit the bill too - for the historical sites and wine, and while it wouldn't be beach weather, it would be reasonable too.

My vote is also for Portugal! You can stay in Lisbon and do day trips to Sintra and Cascais. You might also spend a day visiting Belem for the tower, the Jeronimos monastary, the coach museum, and the Pasteis de Belem cafe for a delicious desert and coffee. Cascais is a beach town and when we were there in early October it was still warm. The food and wine are great and there are lots of historic sites. Check out www.golisbon.com and other sites for more info. We love Portugal and hope you do, too. Have a great time!

Southern Spain as noted would be a great choice. And for an exotic excursion you could venture into Morocco (Tangiers) for a night. Short ferry ride from Tariffa, but with only a week you will still run short of time in Spain...just depends on which adventures you want.
