Getting to Salamanca this summer

Hi - there are no rail tickets available between Madrid and Salamanca through June. It seems to be th Avila - Salamanca leg, and I'm wondering if its truly possible that the train is 100% booked. I haven't been able to get info from rail europe, but I need to get some tickets for my daughter soon, who is planning two weeks at a Spanish immersion school from June 17 - Jul 1. Any insight or help is appreciated.

Thanks, Dave

i don't think they sold out train tickets, but their trains are not as frequent and flexible as in other countries. if she has flexible time, she can get tickets in madrid (station or travel agency) within 1 or 2 days, or bus would do. spanish bus system is very good, but you have to get ticket in person. it's cheaper and good ride.

RailEurope sells only certain routes and only certain tickets. Try www.renfe.es, the site for Spain's rail system. Click on the little Union Jack flag on the left for English.
