My husband and I will be in Paris for six days. We've been to Paris several times so we're looking for new things to do in addition to our usual favorites. We would love to visit Chateau du Clos-Lucé. What is the best way to get to the chateau from the Amboise station or the Amboise/St. Pierre TGV station? Merci beaucoup!
Elaine,
The train station is on the north side of the Loire River, while the main part of the town, the Chateau and Clos-Luce are on the south side. You could probably walk from the station, but a Taxi would be a good option too.
From the "main plaza" (lots of restaurants and other shops) it's only a short walk uphill to Clos-Luce (Chateau will be on the left), perhaps 10 minutes or so.
As I recall, this view is facing towards Clos-Luce (photo was taken in June).
Happy travels!
Elaine,
Amboise and St. Pierre des Corps are two separate stations. You will need to transfer at St. Pierre des Corps, for a short ride to Amboise. But, Ambsoie in general is very walkable.
