Any opinions on the easiest and/or cheapest way to travel from either Munich or Frankfurt to Paris? We're not driving, so it's either by plane or train, or a combo. Prob going to be going from Frankfurt rather than Munich, but it could be the other way around. Don't know yet.

If you look on the German Rail website, http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en, you'll find that there are Saving Fare, Europa-Spezial Frankreich tickets available for as low as €39 per person (advance purchase, and you have to book early). Some of these will be for direct Frankfurt to Paris Est trains. There will also be connections from Munich to Paris, probably with a change in Stuttgart.

We have done this trip twice. The train from Frankfurt to Paris takes a bit under 4 hours. I think I would choose this over flying, once you add in the time spent at the airport at the beginning and end of the flight, plus the transportation time and costs from airport to city. I like going over borders on trains and see how the architecture changes, the names of the towns, and I like watching the scenery.
