Driving from Salzberg to Nuremberg we have two free days before our flight home. Keeping this part of our trip loose. I've heard the Alpine road is very beautiful. Any suggestions? Can we find farm style accommodations or B & B's once we are they or book in advance? Dazed and confused. Thanks.

I have driven parts of the alpenstrasse on various visits. Of course, it is not "on the way" to Nurmberg from Salzberg. For more info, go here:
