We want to spend 4-5 days in the southern corner of Germany (Switzerland/France/Germany intersection) taking day trips to the Black Forest, Switzerland, possibly Colmar. Suggestions for a B&B or mid priced pleasant hotel will be greatly appreciated. Harold

A couple of years ago, we stayed in Gengenbach in the Black Forest at the Sonne Hotel. Very nice, reasonably priced rooms in the center of this wonderful town. http://www.sonne-gengenbach.de/start.php We've also stayed in the lovely little town of Staufen in Breisgau at the zum Hirschen, also right in the center of town. http://www.hirschen-staufen.de/index-en.html

We stayed at Berggasthof-Schlussel this past spring and thourghly enjoyed our stay. It is in the small village of Pfaffenberg on a steep hillside overlooking the valley. There are no services in the village, but there are in the valley about 4 km away. The owner Monica speaks excellent English and was a great hostess.
