Germany in March

We are tenatively planning a two week trip to Germany next March around my 6 year old daughters school break. We will be staying with family outside of Munich for one week. My question is what should we do the second week? My brain screams go to Italy or Spain and get warm but I'm not sure it there is time to do that. Any and all advice is appreciated.

Our family will also be in Germany for two weeks in March, but we will spend it all north of Frankfurt (the Rhine, Cologne, Berlin). My husband really, really wants to go to Bavaria but there just isn't enough time to cover all of Germany in 2 weeks.

There is so much to do in Bavaria if you're already in Munich. You could go to Nurnberg, Neuschwanstein Castle, and even over the border to Salzburg, Austria.

There is so much to see in Bavaria. A lot depends on where the family is going to take you while you are there. You should see the castles at Füssen, Obberammergau, Mittenwald, Berchtesgaden (worth a couple of days), Salzburg, Nürnberg, Würzburg, Bamberg, Rothenburg, Dinkelsbüehl, Nördlingen, need I go on? I'm sure there will be some of those site left after your first week. If you need more suggestions, I can give you more.

Northern Italy (Alto Adige) is readily accessible by train from Munich via Innsbruck. That part, of course, is mountainous (Dolomites), so it could be cold, too.

There are four non-stop trains to Verona per day. That trip takes 5½ hours. Two of those trains go to either Bologna or Milan. You can also catch a local Italian train from Verona to Venice.

For warmth:

Sicily is about the best you can do if you want to stay in Europe. Five or six days there is about right.

March is almost ideal for Morocco. Highs are maybe mid-70's, twenty degrees cooler at night around Fez and Marrakech. Time available is a bit thin.

I'd just take a jacket and do what Lee said.

Let's see, you live in Mass, you're going to Germany mid March, so if it's like this year, it'll be chilly/downright cold, and then you're going back to Mass. Hmmm...go somewhere warm!!!!!!!
