Germany in 10 days

I've rented a car out of Berlin for 10 days. Any suggestions as to a route?

Oops sorry about the lack of info. I'm rather new at this. Okay, I'm meeting up with my 22 year old daughter in Berlin - mid August- my car rental only allows pick up/drop off in Berlin. Both of us enjoy History; museums; markets; countryside; back roads vs autobahns; the ability to leave somewhere if we don't like it. I hope this will give a bit better idea; Oh and we both enjoy meeting new people.

Kent,
Thanks very much; I was kind of thinking something similiar as my daughter and I will have 4 days in Berlin before picking up the car and then we have the car for 10 days. I like the circle idea very much. Thanks again and you are right; I don't want to muck up the trip with having toooo much on the travel agenda and I want to have some fairly easy days.

Kent plots much more ambitious trip than I would. First of all, is this your one and only trip to Germany? If not, I would stick closer to Berlin. I've been to most of the places that he mentions, and they're great, but if you want to meet people, you don't want to spend too much time in the car. Because you're traveling in the summer, I would head up north to the island of Rugen on the Baltic. Stralsund is a very picturesque city to the southwest of the island. I'm especially fond of Görlitz, southeast of Berlin, which Rick mentions in his Germany book. This is a good place to buy Polish pottery. Görlitz is close to Bautzen, an interesting city that is the center of Sorbian culture, and Dresden, another great city featured in Rick's book. I've had 22 year old daughters; I'm sure that she will want to sightsee, shop, and hang out--and not spend all her time in the car. So I would make a small loop and go either north or south, or I would make a larger loop and go both directions.
