Germany, France, Austria- part 1

Hi,

I have been reading tour books and several threads on this forum (as well as a few others) and received some great information from Jo. Now I am trying to plan our trip to Germany.

Here are my constraints:
1. We just got confirmation for our trip last night so I have very little time to plan.

  1. My husband is there on business so we have to fly in and out of Frankfurt. We have to stay at Wiesbaden for our days in the Rhine Valley and Frankfurt.

  2. My husband wants my son to see at least two countries besides Germany.

  3. We haven't been to Paris yet, and my husband took several years of French, so he would like to go there.

  4. (This one is probably TMI, but it affects our decisions.) We will be traveling with our 11 year old son who has severe food (these were just diagnosed over a month ago- wheat, soy, dairy, eggs, salmon, mustard, coconut, and tree nuts- he already had a life threatening peanut allergy) and environmental allergies as well as "uncontrolled" asthma so we will be toting a nebulizer as well as several epi-pens. He loves art museums, zoos, natural history museums, on/off tour buses, city tours, boat rides (as long as they aren't too long- 1 1/2 - 2 hours tops),and most other things in small doses. He eats something at least every 2 hours (and he is still skinny!!). He is interested in geography and history.

  5. We have already planned a mini vacation in San Diego beginning on November 7.

  6. We are on a semi-tight budget due to the already planned vacation.

  7. We probably won't be back in these countries before our son is in college. (We know we have to go to Spain in 2 or 3 years for a wedding, and my husband wants to hit Spain, Portugal, Morroco, the British Isles, and Ireland on that trip- which will be 4-6 weeks.)
