If you're heading south, you could spend a couple of days in Heidelberg, very picturesque and not too far after a long flight.

Why not just stay in Frankfurt, enjoy visiting the museums which will mostly all be open on those days? Or you could go to the Dippemess, sort of a spring festival, with rides, beer tents, German fair food. Services in the cathedral or in any of the other beautiful churches here would be lovely. The organ in the Kaiserdom is magnificent. The spring flowers are all in bloom here already, so you could also visit the Palmengarten. There are some charming B&B's in Frankfurt, set in the various residential neighborhoods, with tree lined streets, and beautiful old architecture, but still close to the city center.

PM Jo, she's the expert on Frankfurt, she's gotta have more ideas than what she wrote here!

In Rothenburg ob der Tauber, there will be a performance of the shephard's dance on Easter Sunday. We plan on being there for that and enjoying Rothenburg for that Saturday and Sunday.
