Germany/Austria Itinerary, Input please

I have refined my itinerary thanks to the helpful input of RS posters. We are looking at approximately 2 weeks in early June. Here is what we are thinking: Fly in to Munich and take the train directly to Garmish. Spend 3 nights. Things to do... take the cable car to Zugspitze and also visit Partnachklamm. We would also like to day trip to Fussen for the castles. Train to Munich for 2 nights. Day trip to Dachau and a day to visit Munich (bike tour?) Train to Salzburg 3 nights. Day trip to Berchtesgaden. A visit to Wurfen. Next we would like to spend one night in Hallstatt and do a salt mine tour. Finish the trip in Vienna for 3-4 nights and then return home either from Vienna or via Munich. Does this seem to make sense? I realize we might not be able to do all activities but weather permitting these are highlights we would like to hit. I have not quite figured out transportation after Salzburg and also am looking for suggestions for Vienna. Any and all help would be appreciated. We are a group of six adults.

Looks like a good overall plan. There's regular train service from Salzburg to Hallstatt (1 change at Attnang-Puchheim), takes a bit over 2 hours. Also from Hallstatt to Vienna (change at same place), takes just over 4 hours. Flying into Munich and returning from Vienna would be the practical way to go. There isn't much lodging in Hallstatt, so reserve early.

As for transportation: From Garmisch: the Zugspitze Bahn leaves from next to the Garmish-Partenkirchen Bahnhof -, by regular trains to Grainau, then cog rail to Eibsee, and cable car from there, or the cog rail all the way up to the back side below the summit and another lift from there (I'd do the cable car bit). Partnachklamm should be accessible by local bus transportation. Garmisch to Hohenschwangau (castles) can be done by bus, RVO 9606, from outside the Garmisch Bahnhof via Oberammergau. For that trip, you can use an RVO Tagesticket at €9,50/p for the whole trip by bus, or you can use two Bayern-Tickets for three people for €30/ticket. But watch the time; the last bus from Hohenschwangau back to Garmisch leaves Hohenschwangau at 5:13pm. For about half an hour after that, you'll have to take a bus to Reutte and the train to Garmisch. Any later than that, the buses stop running, and, if you can get to Fuessen, you'll have to take a train back through Munich. Munich: Dachau is a suburb of Munich. You can do the trip in an afternoon. The S-Bahn to Dachau Bahnhof and the bus to the Memorial take about 40 min. Two Munich Partner Tageskarten, for €13,10/ea, will cover the entire trip for 6 people. Salzburg: Again, RVO Tageskarten for €9,50/p will cover your round trip by bus (the Watzmann Express, RVO 840) to Berchtesgaden and all the buses in Berchtesgaden. The last bus from Berchtesgaden leaves around 6pm. If you want to stay later, use Bayern-Tickets and the train both ways. There are several trains/hour from Salzburg Hbf to Werfen. If you take one of the regional trains or the S-Bahn, you can use two Einfach-Raus-Tickets, about €28 each for the entire trip. The walk from Werfen Bhf to the base of Hohenwerfen hill takes about a half hour +/-.
