German Rail Ticket called Rhineland-Pfalz

I've read about this train ticket called the Rhineland-Pfalz Ticket. All I know is it's like discounted travel for 2-5 people and you buy it at a train station machine.
(I think Germany has similar types for different regions like Bavaria.)

Can anyone tell me how it works? Do i have to use it in one day? And how much will I spend for this ticket?

Germany is one country and Bavaria is one state within that country. DB is Germany's national rail company and therefore all the DB ticket vending machines are exactly the same throughout the entire country. A Länder-Ticket (in your case the land or state of Rhineland-Palatinate) is valid for up to 5 people and costs €25. It's valid weekdays from 9am until 3am of the next day and weekends the entire day. The Rheinland-Pfalz Ticket is good for travel on red livery trains and several bus lines (no IC/ICE white livery trains)throughout the two states of Rheinland-Pfalz and Saarland. These tickets are non-ref non-rebookable and can be obtained at any ticket vending machine, online or in travel agencies and train stations (at additional service fees).

There is a good website for the Rheinland-Pfalz-Ticket at www.der-takt.de. Unfortunately it is not in English (think of it as an opportunity to practice your German). From the homepage, click on the box (RH side) for Rheinland-Pfalz-Ticket, then on the box labeled "Gültigskeitbereich" (validity area) for a map of the entire rail network available for travel with the ticket. Notice the the RLP-Ticket is valid for travel outside of RLP to the border stations of Bonn, Wiesbaden, Mannheim, Karlsruhe, and a couple of towns in the Alsace. You can even travel down the right bank of the Rhein (in Baden-Württemburg) from Karlsruhe to Mannheim.
