German Rail Passes...can buy in person in Germany?

The official site says:
"You can purchase the German Rail Pass range online or at selecetd major train stations in Germany."

Is this true? Which stations? Can I just show up with my euros and passport and buy a 5-day twin pass on the spot? Surely this is the most economical choice, if so...

Thanks!

The passes are cheaper if ordered at home and can be ordered for a greater variety of travel days if you buy before leaving. Frankfurt Hbf does have this service, however, and other major stations will too.

A pass is often NOT the cheapest way in Germany. Where are you arriving, traveling to, when? How many travelers? Poster Lee is especially skilled at providing wise $-saving train travel advice. Give itinerary details and you'll get some good advice.
