I once watch a travel segment about a small German town that hosts a very elaborate Christmas Pageant Nativity Play. Only local town people are in the play and are hired by the town as there primary job as an actor to rehearse. The event happens every 4-5 years.
Does Any know of the town or have any information about this event?
Sonja, I think you are refering to Oberammergau's Passion Play. It is only performed I believe every 10 years with the next one in 2010.

Yes! Thank you, thank you! I have been doing searches on the internet and could not find any answer. The Oberammergau's Passion Play!
Also, the Passion Play is not a Christmas event. The Passion Play is about the death of Jesus, and as such, takes place at Easter time.
If I'm not mistaken, the citizens perform the play continuously over a period of several months, not just during Easter season. This should give you quite a bit of flexibility in choosing when to visit.
Thank you all! After during some research on the Passion Play, this is the event I was looking for.
It is an Easter celebration, instead of Christmas, which makes sense why I wasn't finding any information on the web. And it is located in a small village in lower Bavaria Germany. We lived in Basel, Switzerland in 2005-2006, just a few hours train ride from the village. So I know this is the event we heard so much about while we were Expats.
Through all of your help you have answered my questions that has tormented me since we returned back to the States. Thank You!
The next performances of the Passion Play are in 2010. It is not too early to start getting reservations. It might even be too late.
