We're flying into Geneva and will spend 1-2 days there before meeting friends in France. Should we plan on renting a car, or, take the TGV to Avignon? Any suggestions on reasonable (ha!) hotels in Geneva would be appreciated.
Well, the answer surely depends on things we don't know--your preferences, and how many "we" are, for instance. But the trip by train seems easy and quick.
If you do drive, unless you are returning the car in Switzerland best to rent in France to avoid drop-off fees.
Thank you. Good advice...there's just two of us and we are not returning to Switzerland. Train might be a good idea and rent something in France as we are leaving out of Paris.
Denise, I agree with Adam. I would recommend taking the train and renting in France. I would further recommend using the car around the south of France and then checking it in and taking a train to Paris.
The only reasonble hotels for Geneva would be nr airport. try www.accorhotels.com. Hotel Ibis is reasonble for Switzerland.
